At Ministry of Martial Arts our core focus is on our students and their progress as a Martial Arts student. We offer affordable classes for all ages within the local communities of Plymouth
Taekwon-do is for everybody
We beleive that it doesn’t matter if you are short or tall, male or female, youthful or old. Everyone of any age or ability can practice Taekwon-Do. Our sessions are tailored to suit the needs of all, regardless of if you are a total beginner or a martial artist with previous experience.
Classes consist of self-defence, physical fitness and UKITF Taekwon-Do syllabus. We provide students with the platform to acheive their goals, regarless of if that may just be to improve fitness, or to reach the highest levels of Taekwon-Do and compete at national competitions.
What we offer
Lil Dragons Taekwon-Do
A programme designed for children aged 3-6 years old, with an emphasis on not only the basics of Taekwon-Do, but also life skills such as Stanger Danger, 999 Safety and Healthy Eating
Junior Taekwon-Do
In our Junior Taekwon-Do classes, specifically focused on the 7+ years old age group, we teach UK ITF Taekwon-Do syllabus, consisting of patterns, sparring, fitness, stregth and self defence
Adult Taekwon-Do
Adult Taekwon-Do classes, specifically focus on the 16+ years old age group. We teach UK ITF Taekwon-Do syllabus, consisting of patterns, sparring, fitness, stregth and self defence.
Our Instructor
Our instructor at Ministry of Martial Arts is Mr Rhys Roffey IV Degree Black Belt and UK ITF qualified instructor. Mr Roffey has been practicing Taekwon-Do for over 15 years and has gained lots of experience in this time.
Mr Roffey trains under the guidance of UK ITF president, Grand Master Trevor Nicholls, and regullary meets and trains with fellow instructors within Devon and Cornwall.
He gained his 1st degree in 2012 and in the same year competed in his first national competition. Over the past few years, he has gained many British, English and UK titles and in 2016 represented Team UK in the World Championships where he won a Bronze medal in Sparring. Mr Roffey also has been selected by Team GB a few times over the years to take part in the Talent Pathway where he got the opportunity to train with the very best coaches at Team GB Taekwondo.
Mr Roffey aims to share his love and passion of Taekwon-Do to others as the head coach of Ministry of Martial Arts. Mr Roffey has developed a family friendly Martial Arts school that focuses on bringing communities together through Taekwon-Do.
